Recently I painted some signs for my friend, Jenny. Her family had a booth at the 626 Night Market at Pasadena. They were busy all day selling from 4pm to 11pm. Many visitors came to take pictures of my sign and I had some business cards to give away too.
Around August 2010 I went with my friend, Jenny, to go visit Taiwan and China for the first time for 2 weeks. I started making a travel diary for the first 2 days but stopped after so many exploring and eating that I felt tired to sketch it out everyday. Even if I just took the pictures and draw it out later, it wouldn't feel the same when drawing at the moment. Henceforth my very short old travel diary.
On the top right was suppose to be a map from our flight US to China.
I haven't updated my blog lately. Film work has me slowing down from doing more sketches, especially with food. Here's a watercolor sketch of my friend, Justin, eating steak and rice at Pho 54. The food is quite exaggerated.
So the last three weeks I've been struggling with my film and portfolio schedule. I eventually gave up on portfolio preparation for Portfolio day, where animation companies review your work at CalArts, due to health issues. Health comes before work. Luckily I still have a chance on applying for internships. I'm learning to stay more calm and not get distressed and anxiety over my film work.
My food diary is now complete! Four months of it. I'll be starting a new one soon but now it's break time. Watching and drawing what I eat wasn't the only thing that helped me lose 10 pounds but also my running from the "couch to 5k" schedule since two months ago. I'll include my exercise on the next diary soon.
